Sacred Valley Full-Day Tour from Cusco – Inca History, Local Culture & Amazing Views
Your full-day adventure through the Sacred Valley of the Incas begins with pickup from your Cusco hotel at 8:30 AM.
After a scenic 1-hour drive, your first stop is the Taray Viewpoint, where you’ll take in sweeping panoramic views of the valley below — a perfect spot to snap some incredible photos.
Next, it’s just 30 minutes more to reach Pisac, one of the most impressive Inca archaeological sites in the region. Perched high above the valley at 3,300 meters, Pisac is famous for its agricultural terraces, ceremonial temples, and the Intihuatana — a ritual “sun clock” used by the Incas. Your guide will walk you through its rich history and well-preserved stonework before heading down to explore Pisac’s colorful artisan market and charming colonial-era town.
From there, you’ll travel through the valley to Urubamba, the largest town in the area and your stop for a buffet-style lunch surrounded by gorgeous Andean views.
In the afternoon, you’ll head to the picturesque town of Ollantaytambo, one of the few remaining Inca towns still in use today. Wander its cobblestone streets, browse the vibrant local market, and climb the ancient steps of the Ollantaytambo Fortress. This remarkable site once served as an Inca stronghold and royal estate, with incredible views over the valley and the Urubamba River. It’s also the starting point of the classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
To wrap up the day, your final stop is the highland town of Chinchero. Known for its colonial church built atop an Inca palace, this town is a unique blend of Inca and Spanish heritage. You’ll also get to visit a local weaving cooperative, where you’ll learn how traditional textiles are made and meet some friendly alpacas along the way.
After a full day of exploration, your driver will take you back through the valley, with an estimated return to your hotel in Cusco by 6:00 PM.
