From there, we continue toward the second mountain pass, where the horizon opens into a sweeping tapestry of peaks. After a short rest, we visit Sayacmarca, an extraordinary archaeological site built atop a cliff, famous for its labyrinthine design and mystical atmosphere. The path then leads us to Phuyupatamarca—“the town above the clouds”—one of the most spectacular viewpoints on the entire trail. Finally, descending through ancient Inka stairways, we arrive at our last premium campsite in Wiñaywayna, surrounded by lush vegetation and a profound sense of tranquility.
